Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village (KBPV) is having their second annual semi-formal Valentine Gala to be held Friday February 10th, at the Bloomin' Inn, just seven minutes east of Pincher Creek.  There will be cocktails and a social mixer at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner and live dance music.

Last year the group auctioned off baskets that were generously donated by local businesses, designed to inspire romance.  The Bloomin' Inn was found to be a  romantically inspirational setting for many that attended.  The first year for this event, many were dressed up to have a good time, and whirled the night away to the tunes of Phil Lethbridge and Jackie Therriault.

This year the duo Play'n Country, featuring Marilyn and Loyd Hansen, are the headliners for the event, which featuring live music, good food, fun, auctions, draws, and prizes.  "It is exciting to feature fresh talent to the community," said KBPV General Manager Tracy Glen, who has heard this Crowsnest Pass Duo perform previously.  "We still are going to be featuring the live auction for romantic baskets, that feature was very popular last year.  We will also have a box draw for an overnight get-away package for one lucky couple." Glen also points out that the 'driver take home program' was highly successful and will be available again this year through Mustang Parents, with proceeds going towards the Pincher Creek Mustangs.

Glen is also pleased that the tickets are partially tax deductable.  The tickets will be $25.00 each, with a $15.00 tax deductible receipt available. "We will sell advance tickets only.  We have limited the gala to 80 people, creating a relatively intimate setting.  This is a great way to show your sweetheart how much you care for them."
It is also a good way to support the KBPV Transportation Display expansion which is what the proceeds of the event are slated for.  KBPV President Colleen Cyr said "think of how many romances grew stronger from travelling together.  Whether it was by rail, horse and buggy, or in a vehicle, the romance was spending time together."
