The Huskies hit the ice at warp nine, playing a very assertive game with some very solid checking action, particularly from #17 Sheldon Filipuzzi. They hammered the Bow Island net repeatedly, outshooting the Rebels by a wide margin. Rebels netminder #31 AJ Kambeitz did a spectacular job of denying the Huskies efforts until the declining minutes of the period. With 2:27 on the clock, Huskies Captain #16 Brett Tarcon finally broke through the wall of Kambeitz, with assists by #21 Michael Roy and #23 Ryan Marshall.

With 1:25 left in the period it was Michael Roy's turn to make the point, assisted by Goodreau and #27 Lane Crawford. Roy did it again with 34.9 seconds left, assisted this time by Marshall and Crawford. Second period over, the score was 7-1 Huskies.
The Rebels held off the Huskies' offence for the first five minutes of the third period, and with 15:05 on the clock Rebels #9 Cade Niedorf scored with a shot from about 20 feet out that bounced its way through the Huskies defence. With a hint of chaos in the air, the Huskies concentrated on maintaining their lead. With 1:43 left in the game, Huskies #23 Ryan Marshall popped one in, aided by an unselfish pass by Roy. Mackenzie Jordan also got an assist on the play.

The great goaltending by Huskies #33 Lane Kalbhen and #35 Braeden Claringbull contributed greatly to their success in this game.
The Huskies racked up 22 minutes of cool-off time during the game, but avoided the big penalties. The Rebels had 28 minutes in penalties, including two ejections in the third.
At the buzzer it was Huskies 8, Bow Island 2.
