^ The Oil and Gas Job Fair kicked off yesterday, September 21, and appeared to be an immediate success, with a seemingly endless stream of hundreds of people filling the Heritage Inn's convention room to talk to oil and gas industry representatives.  "It was incredible," said Pincher Creek Mayor Ernie Olsen, who is the key booster for the event.  "Even the oil people that are here ran out of papers to pass out.  they couldn't believe the number of people that are here.  It's been phenomenal."

The Oil and Gas Fair continues today, September 22 until 4 pm.  Click here for more information.  Stay tuned for a full story after the dust settles.

^ Cowley threw a retirement party for Lucille Martin.  According to Lucille she has been working there "for 75 years".  We doubt the veracity of that statement.  However, we join the citizens of Cowley in wishing her the best, and thank her for her great service over the years.

This unassuming building has been attached to King's Restaurant on Main Street for many years, after being moved there to serve as a storage building in the 1970's.   Because drywall was mounted over the original walls on the interior and sheets of siding over the exterior it has been quite well preserved.  King's Restaurant itself is scheduled to be demolished, after fire damage to the structure was deeemed too expensive/extensive to repair.  An auction will be held for the contents.
