Community Foundation announces Youth in Action program

Application deadline Friday, November 2

The Community Foundation is launching a new granting program called Youth in Action to inspire youth leadership and community engagement.

The program will fund projects that are youth-initiated and youth-driven. Applications will be accepted from youth (ages 13 to 18) who have partnered with a registered charity or a school. The charity or school must be willing to take responsibility for the grant to the youth group.

This project aims to encourage youth to take an active interest in supporting their community. Projects should be creative and innovative and not fundraising for a pre-existing project.

To assist the Foundation with the granting decisions, a Youth Advisory Committee will be established. This committee will review the applications and provide feedback and suggestions to our Board of Directors.

Application forms are available online at www.cflsa.ca and will be accepted until Friday, November 2.

About the Community Foundation:

The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta is a registered charity that helps
donors connect their generosity with community needs to create a better and stronger community - now and forever. We’ve been doing this since the Foundation was formed on April 18, 1966.

Today, we have over $14.5 million in our funds and each year we distribute over $400,000. In total, we have given out over $6 million to a wide variety of charitable organizations, which is possible because of hundreds of caring and generous donors throughout southwestern Alberta.
