Fort Macleod RCMP issue Weather Advisory: highway travel not recommended

The Fort Macleod RCMP would like to advise the public and motorists of high winds within the M.D of Willow Creek. High wind gusts of 50 Km/h and more are being experienced on the Highway 2 North towards High River and all over the general area.

Anyone driving a vehicle that is pulling a trailer should be advised that travel at this time is not recommended. The Fort Macleod RCMP has already responded to one such incident of a roll over.

Luckily no injuries were sustained by the driver of a truck that had been pulling a holiday trailer. Please stay off the highways if pulling any type of freight until the winds subside.
