The following games were played in Pincher Creek on Thursday, October 18, 2012:

'A' Boys Dragons vs Sabres

A' Boys volleyball: Dragons defeat Sabres

St. Michael's 'A' Boys Dragons volleyball team hosted their Livingstone Sabres counterparts at the Dale Wentz Memorial Gymnasium.  The Dragons got off to a slow start, losing the first set to the Sabres by a score of 35-6.  The Dragons rebounded after that, and the next two sets were more balanced, with the Dragons winning the second set by 25-17 and the third set by 25-23, thereby winning the game.

'B' Girls Hawks vs Cobras

'B' Girls volleyball:  Halton Hawks versus WCCHS Cobras

The Halton Hawks 'B' girls hosted Claresholme's WCCHS Cobras.  The Cobras won all three sets, the first by a score of 25-21, the second by a score of 25-8, and the third by a score of 25-13.  There were some very positive improvements noticeable on the Hawks' side, as they played more cohesively and managed to keep quite a few more volleys going than they were demonstrating going into their tournament a couple of weekends ago.  As for the Cobras, they're a perennial "team to beat", and this year's squad is no exception.

Two other games were played on Thursday evening, one between the Junior 'A' Boys Dragons and the Crowsnest Pass Panthers, and the other between the Junior 'B' Girls and the Crowsnest Pass Pandas.  Scores for those two games were unavailable at press time.
