Peewee Chinooks blank Thunder

Merry Christmas from the Peewee Chinooks

2014/15 Pincher Creek Peewee Chinooks

Pincher Creek's Peewee Chinooks hosted the CNP Thunder at the MCC arena on Friday evening. After a less than stellar performance at their home tournament, the Chinooks were looking to make the most of this outing, and they did.  The Thunder are facing an interesting challenges this season. The team is composed of a mix of Crowsnest Pass and Warner players.  With a three hour driving time between the towns, over 200 km, practices are held separately and the team only comes together in its entirety for games.  Their determination to play is laudable, as is what must be hurculean efforts by their parents and coaches to make it happen this season.

The Chinooks scored three unanswered goals in each period for a 9-0 win.  Foster Fowler and Jace Barnett shared goaltending duties right down the middle for the Thunder, and each of them was under constant fire during their time in net.  Scoring for the Chinooks were Logan Deley (1 goal and 1 assist), Michael Kleinhans (2 goals), Trinity Tanner (2 goals and 3 assists), William Johnson Jr., Easton Fitzpatrick, and Nico Charette. Also earning assists were Tristan Blood, Christian Berthiaume, and Nelz Vance.  The Chinooks were demonstrating a much improved application of the playbook.  The Thunder had, for the most part, a much stronger third period but failed to get anything past Chinooks goalie Wes Krampe.
