The Art in the Library opening, held yesterday January 15 at the Pincher Creek and District Municipal Library, was filled with well wishers, artists, and art lovers. Approximately 25 people were in attendance.  Elaine Steinke from Pincher Creek Allied Arts seemed to sum up what many were expressing, saying "Two of my favorite thing in the world, art and books, together." The four featured artists were on hand; Linda Anderson Stewart, Rebecca Holland, John Hancock and Mike Judd.

Library Community Outreach Coordinator Sahra Hancock addressed the crowd. "This is very exciting. It is helping us bring more art into our public spaces." On behalf of the library Sahra Hancock, Library Board President Sandra Baker and Head Librarian Janice Day each expressed their appreciation for the partnership with Allied Arts, and the work that went into this showing of 11 pieces. The artwork is to be displayed in the library from January 12 to April 24, after which another group of artists will be featured.

Each of the artists had the opportunity to address the crowd. They each expressed their appreciation for having the opportunity to show their work. After the the announcements, people visited with the artists, perused the artwork, and enjoyed the atmosphere.
