Atom Chinooks win two at home

Pincher Creek's Atom Chinooks had a successful two game home stand this weekend at the MCC, winning a come-from-behind game against Picture Butte's Blades 8-3 on Friday February 13 and winning a Provincial game against Warner 8-3 on Sunday February 15. The Atom Chinooks dominated the game against the Warner Sabres from the very beginning and only had one misstep in the third period, when the Sabres scored all 3 of their goals within the span of 1 minute.

Picture Butte's Blades outscored the Chinooks 3-1 in the first period of Fridays game.  After that the Chinooks found their groove, scoring 4 unanswered goals in the second period and 3 unanswered goals in the third.  Chinooks #27 Rhett Fitzpatrick got a hat trick.  Chinooks Captain Riley Potts scored twice, including the first goal of the game, and got two assists.  Other Chinooks goals came from Cory Dyck, Aidan Potts, and Jaron Scotton.  Scotton also earned 2 assists. Other Chinooks assists came from Dyck, Adian Potts, and Drew Stuckey.  Blades #13 Ryan Holm scored their first two goals.  Nicholas Rudelich scored the other.  #9 Logan Hillaby earned two assists. Blades Rudelich, Jaxon Nault, and Hunter VanVarenbergh each earned an assist.

Kieran Randall and Rhett Fitzpatrick both had 2 goals apiece in the blowout Chinooks win over Warner, with a few more goals coming from Drew Stuckey, Travis Bastien, Cory Dyck, and Riley Potts. Koltyn Kipling was solid in net for the Chinooks, stopping a few breakaways and some scrambles in front of the net that could have been goals. Travis Bastien also racked up 3 assists.  Other Chinooks assists came from Riley Potts, Drew Stuckey, Brody Crosschild, and Rhett Fitzpatrick. Warner's Degan Robertson, Wyatt Coupe, and Chris Brantner scored for the Sabres, with the Robertson and Coupe goals coming only 12 seconds apart.  Sabres assists came from Brantner, Coupe, Chase Lippa, and Tash Long.
