Collision between SUV and semi on Highway 3 sends two to hospital

Toni Lucas - At approximately 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, there was a collision between a tractor-trailer and an SUV on Highway 3 near the junction of Highway 785, close to Pincher Creek. The point of impact was the trailer of the tractor-trailer.  The SUV contained two occupants, who were transported to hospitals.   One person was transported to Pincher Creek Hospital and one was transported to Lethbridge Regional Hospital.  The sole male occupant in the tractor trailer did not require hospitalization. Highway 3 was blocked for close to an hour.

Pincher Creek and Piikani RCMP, Pincher Creek Rescue, and two ambulances attended the scene. Traffic was diverted around the scene via Highway 6 and Highway 785 for approximately 45 minutes. According to Cst. Sherri Flundra of the Pincher Creek RCMP the incident is currently under investigation.
