Pincher Creek's Midget Huskies hosted Kainai's Chiefs at the MCC arena on Thursday evening, February 5 for the second of two games to determine which Spud League teams are to go to Provincials.  The Huskies won both games, the second by a score of 9-1.

Scoring two goals apiece for the Huskies were Levi Anderson, Derek Tarcon, and Jesson Luco.  Also scoring for the Huskies were Kieran Douglas, Jared Koentges, and Marc Sciarra. Picking up assists were Anderson, Tarcon, Austin Kristjanson (2), Brandt Sabo, and Nic Jordan.  Brad Devine scored Kainai's sole goal, assisted by Tristen Blackwater, 5 minutes into the third period.  Ethan Richards (Huskies) and Austin Fox (Kainai) were both ejected from the game for fighting.

The next day, February 6, the Huskies traveled to Warner for a regular season game, winning it 4-1.  They travel to Bow Island tonight, February 9, for another Provincials qualifier.  The Huskies are still on top of the Spud League standings, with a current record of 14 wins and one loss.  That sole loss came at Bow Island's hands when they defeated the Huskies 7-3 on January 3.  On December 14 the Huskies defeated Bow Island by the same 7-3 margin.
