Pincher Creek's Midget Huskies are returning home from Great Falls, Montana with their second Casey Cup title of the last three years. As reported in The Great Falls Tribune, the annual event ran Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and included 15 teams in two divisions. The Huskies were competing in the Class A Division.

The Huskies advanced to the final after defeating the Crowfoot Rockies 5-2, followed by a 7-6 overtime win over Claresholm. In the final they blanked Calgary Southside 6-0. The Huskies also won the Casey Cup in 2013, but lost to host Great Falls Americans in last season's final.

The Midget Huskies will be playing a Provincial game against Fort Macleod at the Memorial Community Centre Arena on Tuesday evening, February 17, starting at 8:30 pm.

The Casey Cup is held in honor of Great Falls multi-sport athlete Terry Casey, who played in many sports including football.  He was an all-star quarterback in high school, and once pitched a perfect fast-pitch softball game.  After high school he played hockey for the University of North Dakota where he led in scoring in his junior year,  Casey concluded his collegiate career by being named to the all western team, and was selected as a first team All American.  He was later selected for the USA National Team and was also made captain of the 1968 Olympic team.  While heading to a fast-pitch tournament in July 1968 he and two of his friends were killed in a head on collision.
