Sr. Girls basketball - Dragons defeat Raiders

Ashtyn Duncan (Dragons) takes a shot

Pincher Creek's Senior Girls Dragons hosted Nanton's Raiders for a basketball game on the evening of February 9 before a big crowd at the Dale Wentz Memorial Gymnasium.  The  Dragons won the game by a wide margin, but the Raiders played with a zest not reflected in the score, with lots of near misses, making for an entertaining game.  The Dragons were masterful in their passing plays, and the combined Halton/St. Mike's team has really gelled this season.

Rebecca Lowry was again the Dragons' top scorer with 24 points.  Dragon Emily Milligan also had a good game, scoring 8 points, including two 3-pointers.  Dragon Jayden Kennedy scored 7 points.  Kate Nicas and Dykota Letourneau also scored 3-pointers.  Points aside, the real secret to this Dragons squad is their determination and teamwork.  Every member of the team had a chance to shine, and their top scorers are as willing to pass the ball when it's in the team's best interest.

Top scorer for the Raiders was Rachael Walker with 13 points.
