Bus and pickup collide on Highway 3

Chris Davis

On April 6 at approximately 3:00 am Crowsnest Pass Ambulance and Pincher Creek Emergency Services (PCES) responded  to a collision between a bus and a pickup truck on Highway 3 near Burmis.  Crowsnest Pass Ambulance transported two people, one from each vehicle, to Crowsnest Pass Health Centre with what were believed to be minor injuries.  Multiple other people were assessed on scene and released.

According to PCES Chief David Cox the bus was moved to the Burmis scales until a replacement bus came to transport the passengers.  The incident resulted in the blockage of Highway 3 for a brief period of time.  Lundbreck Fire (PCES) responded with an engine, and Pincher Creek responded with two ambulances, a rescue vehicle, a command vehicle, and Engine 15.  PCES members assisted with traffic control. The scene was cleared at approximately 4:30 am, approximately an hour and a half after the incident was reported to PCES.
