According to a story published yesterday by CBC News North, Michael MacPherson has been released on bail by a Yukon Supreme Court judge into the custody of his parents in Victoria.

MacPherson is the Whitehorse man charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Tanner Sinclair last summer.  Sinclair was born and raised in Pincher Creek.  He died after a stabbing incident in Whitehorse early morning July 15, 2014.  MacPherson was the subject of a manhunt after fleeing the Yukon, eventually turning himself in to Vancouver Island West Shore RCMP on July 25, 2014.

According to the CBC story, MacPherson's bail conditions call for a $25,000 cash bond, and he is scheduled to be placed in a drug treatment program by Sunday May 17.

A trial date has not been set.
