Another successful Stuff the Bus event at Ranchland Mall

Wayne Camber, Sharon Roberts, Vicki Hewison, and Braden Barber

On Saturday June 13 volunteers from First Student and McMan Agency were in the Ranchland Mall parking lot asking people if they would help 'Stuff the Bus' for a food drive initiative. They collected new non-perishable food items to help stock the shelves for the summer.

"People don't think about food banks in the summer," said First Student Pincher Creek Location Manager Sharon Roberts. "People were surprised that we were here. But people need help all year around."  Roberts said the bus drivers interact with kids every day, and they know there are kids that go hungry. Pincher Creek Co-op Food Store had prepared packages available in the store as part of their 'Good Buy to Hunger' program. Braden Barber is new to McMan agency and was on hand to hand out seeds and share information about the Grow-a-Row program at the food bank. He is looking for support from local gardeners to grow fresh fruits and vegetables and donate it to those in need.  He will also be spearheading a healthy cooking program.
