Markets flourishing in Pincher Creek

Toni Lucas

Whether fresh air, garden, or farmers markets, people flock to places where they can buy fresh produce and handmade items for a reasonable cost.  Pincher Creek's Pioneer Country Farmers' Market is held Fridays from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Pincher Creek MCC Arena lobby, featuring the Waffle Wagon parked out front this year. The Okanagan Fresh Fruit truck is parked in Sobeys parking lot on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, and the Pincher Creek Co-op food store features fresh produce from the Pincher Creek Hutterite Colony.

There are a variety of items available at the Pioneer Country Market, produced by 17 different vendors.  There are artisan products, baking, and hand produced textiles, as well as fresh fruits, berries, and vegetables.

The Okanagan Fruit Truck brings produce from British Columbia and USA and will be open to the end of September.
