Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) is asking citizens to voice their opinion on a two-year experimental stocking of sterile Tiger trout in nine Alberta lakes to create "Quality Stocked Fisheries".

According to AEP  "The objective for the stocking of tiger trout in Alberta is to create mono-culture tiger trout and mixed trout destination fisheries that provide a unique recreational opportunity for anglers."

Tiger trout is a sterile hybrid produced by crossing brown trout and brook trout.

Nine lakes are being assessed as potential waters for the experimental stocking of Tiger trout. The objective for the stocking of tiger trout in Alberta is to create mono-culture tiger trout and mixed trout destination fisheries that provide a unique recreational opportunity for anglers.
