RCMP need public’s help in Crowsnest Pass homicide investigation

The RCMP is asking for the public’s help in their investigation into the homicide of a local resident. On the morning of Wednesday, September 9th, Hannah Meketech, age 69, was found dead at her residence at 1421 -81 Street in Coleman, Alberta. The deceased was alone in her home when EMS and RCMP personnel attended the residence after receiving a 911 call from a concerned neighbour. An autopsy by the Calgary Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the death to be a homicide. Police efforts to locate the deceased’s family are ongoing.

Investigators from the RCMP Major Crime Unit, based in Airdrie, are now in Coleman and have carriage of the investigation. They ask anyone who may have information related to the deceased’s recent activities or acquaintances to contact them immediately. The cause of death will not be released at this time due to investigational considerations.
