Novice Chinooks host Kainai

Toni Lucas

Pincher Creek's Novice Chinooks hosted the Kainai Braves at the MCC on Saturday, January 16. The Braves won the game 10 - 7. #16 Walker Anderson scored 4 goals for the Chinooks, and teammate #17 Cashe Kropinak scored 2 goals.  Congratulations to Chinooks #12 Rowan Mackenzie, who scored his first goal of the season.  The team celebrated his success together after the game.

"We are actually on a four game road trip coming up, we are away for most of the rest of the season," said Chinooks Coach Cory Anderson. They will be in Kainai on the weekend, and then they will host Raymond on Family Day. "That's our last game of the season, before playoffs start. It's looking like we will be in playoffs, we are currently in third place, out of five teams, so we are sitting pretty good. We had a slow start to the season, but really have turned it around. Actually, this is our first loss since the beginning of December. We have had quite a few wins, and placed third in the Fort Macleod Tournament just before Christmas. First weekend in February. They are really developing well, and their skating has come a long way. They are starting to pass the puck really well."
