Senior boys and girls basketball: Dragons defeat visiting Blades

Josh Davis

On Monday February 22 the Senior Boys and Girls Dragons hosted their Noble Central Blades counterparts at St Michael's Dale Wentz Memorial Gymnasium in Pincher Creek. Though the game looked close in the first few minutes, the Girls Dragons ultimately won a wide margin win against the Blades. In the following boys game, the Boys Dragons earned a large early lead, also winning by a large margin.

The early minutes of the Girls game were quite close. While the Dragons scored the first basket of the game, the Blades scored the second, even briefly taking the lead. However, the Dragons dominated the rest of the game.

The Dragons Boys took the lead in the opening moments of the first quarter. Penalties made by the Blades worked against them and the Dragons earned a lead of 25-11 in the first quarter, and solidified that lead into the second, ultimately earning themselves a wide margin win.
