Go Skateboard Day 2016 held in Pincher Creek

Josh Davis - On Tuesday, June 21 the Pincher Creek Skate Park hosted Go Skateboard Day, a community event which invited skaters of all ages and skill levels to come out and show their stuff and learn from their peers and seasoned veterans of the sport.

The summer event, which ran from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm was sponsored by Infamous Board Shop, the Town of Pincher Creek, and Boston Pizza. In additions to skateboards, many attended with bikes and scooters. As in previous years, Skate Jam featured music, courtesy of Infamous President Norman Gretchen.

Gretchen said he felt a strong connections to the community. Infamous first set up shop in Pincher Creek's Ranchland Mall in 1999 before moving to Lethbridge in 2003.  He said that the day had gone "great" and that its important to encourage people to take up skating from a young age.
