Armed robbery in Stirling, suspects charged

RCMP Alberta - On October 3, 2016 at 9:00 am an Armed Robbery occurred at the Street Side Market in Stirling, AB. A masked person entered the store and demanded cigarettes and cash money. The store clerks refused to comply with the suspects demands. The suspect then produced a pistol and again demanded cigarettes and cash. The clerks still did not comply with the demands. The masked person left the store empty handed and got in to a Teal Green Ford Taurus car with no licence plate and drove off. Approximately 1 hour later, a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle used in the Armed Robbery was observed on Hwy # 4. A traffic stop was initiated and 4 subjects were arrested. 2 adults and 1 young offender are facing numerous charges. Mereanda Josephine Sorensen of Lethbridge , Lenard Joseph Moorman of NFA and a Young Offender are charged with :
1. Armed Robbery
2. Disguised while committing an offence
3. obstructing a peace officer
4. using an imitation firearm while committing an offence.

All 3 subjects were remanded in to custody.

Theinvestigation is still ongoing.
