Canadian Professional Rodeo Hall of Fame inductee Emery LaGrandeur
Pincher Creek's own Emery LaGrandeur won the World Saddle Bronc Riding Championship 3 times, was Canadian Champion twice, beginning in 1913, and was proclaimed "the greatest rider in the world" by Guy Weadick.

After retiring from competition LaGrandeur served as rodeo judge at the Calgary Stampede from 1926 to 1934.
