RCMP nab wanted suspect Trevor Legge

RCMP have successfully apprehended a wanted subject, Trevor LEGGE, believed to have been armed and dangerous.

LEGGE was wanted on Canada Wide Warrants for a number of recent offences believed to have been committed in and around both the Blackfalds and Whitecourt areas.

Yesterday, August 30th, Edmonton and Hinton RCMP General Investigation Sections (GIS), assisted by ALERT's Integrated Fugitive Apprehension Unit (IFAU), RCMP Special "O", Edson Major Crimes Unit (MCU), and Hinton RCMP Detachment, worked together to successfully locate and apprehend the wanted man.

RCMP's Edmonton Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called in to assist as investigators confirmed LEGGE's presence at a rural location outside of Hinton.

LEGGE resisted arrest, but was quickly restrained and taken into custody with the assistance of an RCMP Police Service Dog.

At the time of the arrest, LEGGE was found to be in possession of a rifle, and a stolen vehicle.

LEGGE, age 30, of Whitecourt, remains in police custody facing numerous charges including:
- Possession of stolen property over $5000;
- Possession of a weapon while prohibited;
- Unsafe storage of firearms; and
- Resist arrest.
