The Town of Turner Valley is notifying motorists using Highway 22 through Turner Valley to expect traffic delays on Saturday, June 1, 2013.

Southbound traffic on Highway 22, through Turner Valley, will experience significant delays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. as a result of the Diamond Valley Parade occurring in the Town of Black Diamond. Highway 22 access between Turner Valley to Black Diamond will be closed during the parade and traffic will be re-directed. This closure is anticipated to last approximately 2.5 hrs.

All southbound motorists should consider an alternate travel route during this period, as no traffic will be permitted on Highway 22 between Turner Valley and Black Diamond for the duration of the parade and much higher than normal traffic volumes are expected.

An alternate route that may be considered is:
Southbound Highway 2A through Okotoks,
Continue southbound on Secondary Highway 783
Then westbound on Secondary 543, and to Highway 22

Detours will be in place in Turner Valley to bypass the closure, but high traffic volumes will create significant delays.
