Town of Pincher Creek Mayor Don Anderberg and several councillors attended the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) Conference in Calgary at the Telus Convention Center from November 20 to November 22.

During the conference there were many possible lectures to attend, so everyone had their own individual experience.  Councillor Wayne Elliott and Councillor Tammy Rubbelke had the chance to meet with Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi.

"He's very charismatic," said Councillor Elliott regarding his brief encounter with Nenshi.

Councillor Rubbelke was in agreement.  "I think it was incredible.  He is very enthusiastic, very personable, very well spoken young man."   Both Councillors were taken on a tour of the City of Calgary Municipal Building, including the office of Mayor Nenshi.

Mayor Nenshi told the two Councillors that he had previously heard Councillor Lorne Jackson speak regarding the treatment that he received at the Burn Treatment Unit at the Foothills Medical Centre and was moved by the power of Councillor Jackson's story.  Councillor Jackson suffered severe electrical burns several years ago and was treated through the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Centre.
