Adult Learning Council offers fall courses

Toni Lucas

The Pincher Creek Adult Learning Council (PCALC) has started their programing at St. Michael's School and is providing a wide range of public interest courses. "We try to find out what people want to learn, and what they want to teach," explained Adult Learning and Literacy Coordinator Monica Sczryba-Davis. Many of the people giving courses for the fall sessions are locally based and according to Sczryba-Davis "They have a real passion in their areas, and are ecxited to teach it to others." Classes range from physical fitness, business, knitting, cooking, language, computer skills and many more skills.  Even if their is a course that you are interested in and the registration is past, letting the staff know is useful, for rescheduling purposes.

Sczryba-Davis invites anyone that is intested in either learning something new, expanding on skills they already have, or teaching something they love to contact the Adult Learning Center through their website, facebook page, or by phone at 403-627-4478. You can also go to room 11 at St Michael's School.

PCALC hold a casual coversation group at Mrs. P's in the Ranchland Mall every Thursday from 5 - 6 pm that is open to Engilish as a second language students and English speakers that would like to improve their language skills. Other areas that the PCALC help with is tutoring, literacy, and monitored testing.
