Pincher Creek's Adult Learning Council  (ALC) wrapped up their Great Scrabble Tournament Challenge and held their Christmas party on Monday, December 11 at Mrs. P's Coffee Corner in the Ranchland Mall.  Adult Learning Coordinator Monica Sczyrba-Davis thanked the tutors, facilitators, teachers, learners, and all those that help the ALC throughout the year. There was a tasty Chinese food dinner, good conversation, delicious desserts, gift exchanges, and the top players in the Scrabble tournament faced each other for one more round and then were awarded prizes.

Don Day, a man of many well placed words,  won first place in the tournament, earning the prize of an e-reader.  Jim Johnson was second, winning a Co-op Gift Card. Rose Johnson was third and won a pillow.

Over 30 people participated in the Christmas celebration. "We really appreciate all of you taking the time, both tonight, and throughout the year," said Sczyrba-Davis to all those that came from all the different programming choices that ALC offers. Administrative Assistant Annie Steward set up games for everyone to play, including a gift giving game.

The Adult Learning Council is based out of St. Michael's School and will be open until Thursday December 18, after which they will be closed for the season. They will be holding the Monday Night Social gatherings at Mrs. P's once again every Monday at 5:30 pm starting January 12 in 2015.
