Ethan Choi is an outstanding 13 year old golfer from Pincher Creek who has been earning high standings in some very prestigious tournaments.  Ethan has already participated in the  Alberta Junior Boys Championship, CN Future Links Western Championship, and the Junior World Golf Championship this season.  His high quality performances in these tournaments qualified him to attend the Canadian Junior Golf Championships in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, to be held August 2-6.

Ethan has been having a great season.  He came 10th out of a field of 120 competitors* who had qualified for the Alberta Junior Boys Championship held at Henderson Lake Golf Club in Lethbridge.  At the Junior World Golf Championship held in San Diego he was competing against 155 13 - 14 year old golfers from up to 56 countries where he secured 11 position.   The Goose Hummock Golf Course in Edmonton hosted the CN Future Links Western Championship where Ethan Choi tied Will Gretton for 10th place.  His scoring this year has lead to him being one of four boys from Alberta who have qualified to attend the Canadian Junior Golf Championships in Vaudreuil-Dorion Quebec Aug 2-6th.

Ethans's Father Sheldon Choi said his son truly enjoys the game and has since he started at the age of 4.  Sheldon is very happy with how his son is developing in the game, and as a person.  "This year, he has had a very good year so far."  He has seen his son develop a lot of maturity this season.  He is seeing more patience and and resilience in how his son is performing both on and off the course.

Ethan performs in the local Men's League and local golfers have admired the determination and the efforts that Choi has shown to reach the quality of golfing he has achieved.

Ethan will begin grade 8 at St. Michael's School in the fall.
