PCES responds to a fire and assists STARS

Toni Lucas

Between August 14 and August 20 Pincher Creek Emergency Services responded to two incidents - a structure fire north of Highway 3 and to assist STARS air ambulance for a call south of Longview.

Pincher Creek Emergency Services, an Alberta Health Services unit out of the Crowsnest Pass, and Lundbreck Fire responded to assist STARS air ambulance Saturday, August 15 for a single patient pick up approximately 20 kilometres south of Longview.   Weather related issues required the landing to be further north than originally planned.

On Monday August 17 at approximately 8:30 am Pincher Creek Emergency Services responded to a call from a concerned citizen who had seen smoke from the highway.  The incident turned out to be a small structure fire on Rural Road 29-0 half a mile north of Highway 3 close to the bottom of Brocket Hill.  A travel trailer was damaged before the fire was contained.   The cause of the fire is undetermined.
