Town of Pincher Creek asks residents to voluntarily reduce water usage

"Due to a combination of irregular weather including a drier than average winter and recent hot weather the sources that the Town of Pincher Creek draw water from are currently lower than average. " - Town of Pincher Creek

Council for the Town of Pincher Creek met during the regular meeting of Tuesday, July 28, 2015.  One of the issues discussed was that Town administration has asked for a volunteer water reduction to be undertaken by residents.  CAO Laurie Wilgosh reported to council that administration has been making this request of residents by directly contacting specific high-use ratepayers, and  via social media.  The Town is also restricting its own water use, particularly watering and irrigation.  Wilgosh also said low water conditions could lead to water restrictions in the future.
