Senior seriously injured in downtown Pincher Creek scooter vs pickup collision

On 2015 Sept 15th at 1 pm Pincher Creek RCMP and EMS responded to a collision involving a pick up truck and a mobility aid scooter at the intersection of Main Street and Hewetson Avenue in Pincher Creek AB.

A pick up truck being driven by an 67 year old woman from Cowley AB was proceeding after stopping at the 4 way stop, turning left onto main street east bound when it collided with a 4 wheel scooter operated by an 86 year old man from Pincher Creek AB, who was crossing main street in the marked crosswalk.

The 86 year old man was transported to hospital with serious injuries, the 67 yr old female driver of the truck was not injured.

Pincher Creek RCMP are continuing the investigation, and charges are pending for the driver of the truck for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk. The Traffic Safety Act defines a person on a mobility aid as a Pedestrian.
