Update: It has been confirmed to the Pincher Creek Voice that the injured teenager of the following report has returned to Pincher Creek and is recovering from serious injuries.
On September 13, 2005 at 3:45 pm Pincher Creek RCMP and Emergency Services responded to Main Street and Victoria Crescent intersection in Pincher Creek for a 14 year old boy who had been struck by a pickup truck travelling east on Main Street.
The 14 yr old boy was transported to hospital with serious injury, and later transferred to a Calgary Hospital for treatment.
Investigation is continuing, witness's report that the vehicle was travelling east on main street, and the 14 yr old boy crossed the street without seeing the vehicle approaching and was struck by the vehicle.
At this time no charges are expected.
RCMP would like to remind anyone riding a bicycle they have to follow the same rules of the road as any motor vehicle, including stopping at all stop signs before proceeding safely.
