Pincher Creek Town Council briefs from September 28, 2015 meeting

Council for the Town of Pincher Creek held their regular meeting the evening of September 28, 2015,  Deputy Mayor Doug Thornton chaired the meeting.  In attendance were councillors Wayne Elliott, Lorne Jackson, Mark Barber, Jim Litkowski and Mayor Don Anderberg.  CAO Laurie Wilgosh was also in attendance.

During reports councillors gave a list of where they had gone and what they had done for the town since they last attended a regular meeting of council.  A few of the events attended included the AUMA convention, a presentation at Kootenai Brown during their Harvest Festival, Ranchland Mall Harvest Festival, the grand opening of John Barlow's campaign office, the Moonshadow Run, Peewee Football movie night, Alberta Culture Days, and a variety of meetings.

Councillor Mark Barber said the Curling Club and Golf Club are working together on the next phase of a new facility.

Councillors Jackson Thornton said Berry Architecture and Associates of Red Deer, who were the architectural firm who originally worked up the design for the new Crestview Lodge, has won the bid now that it has been re-tendered.

Councillor Doug Thornton said the FCSS funding is close to being finalized.  He said the Community Hall used some of their casino money to put in a new carpet which cost $22,000.  The hall is looking to streamline their scheduling and will work with organizations who have regular annual rentals of the hall to attempt to prevent overlap bookings.
