SV Hawks vs Dragons |

On Monday October 5, 2015, Matthew Halton hosted Saint Michael’s JV and SV girls Dragons volleyball teams. Though the Dragons put up a good fight, the JV Hawks won all three of their sets. However, the SV Hawks did not find the same success, and the Dragons defeated them in two out of three sets.

The JV Dragons took an early lead in their first set against Halton’s Hawks. The Hawks caught them up at fourteen points, and proceeded to gain their own small lead, winning the close set 25-23.

In the second set, the Hawks earned a large early lead. The Hawks outplayed the Dragons, winning 25-16.

The third set was the closest in the JV game. The Dragons repeatedly earned and lost a small lead, and ultimately tied the score up at 24-24. However, the Hawks earned the required two points in a row, and took victory 26-24.

In the first set of the SV game, both teams started out looking incredibly close. The Hawks put in a strong performance near the end of the set, winning it 18-25.

The second set was similarly close. The Hawks repeatedly gained and lost a small lead, until the score was tied 19-19. The Dragons then earned six points in a row, winning the set 25-19.

The Hawks didn’t play their best in the third set, however. The Dragons took advantage of this, winning the set by a landslide, 25-12, and taking the game.
