JV Dragons vs Panthers |
Pincher Creek's JV and Senior Boys Dragons hosted their Crowsnest Pass Panthers counterparts for an evening of volleyball at St. Michael's Dale Wentz memorial Gymnasium on October 15. The Senior Dragons have been having a great season, including a recent second place win at a tournament in Calgary. The JV Dragons too are proving to be an impressive team. Both Dragons teams won all three of their respective sets by convincing margins. The Panthers teams were better competition than the scores might otherwise suggest particularly in the second set, which saw them take the lead for a little while.
As a side note, F.P. Walshe's SV Boys Flyers have 6 wins and no losses so far this Westwinds season, with their biggest challenges being close games against Coalhurst and the Dragons, with Livingstone's Sabres also forcing them to bring their best game. The Panthers have also demonstrated some solid skills, as they did in both levels of contest with the Dragons, making for some very competitive and exciting volleyball. The Dragons are playing smart, and their serves and work at the net merits special mention.
