Boston Pizza in Pincher Creek hopes to install VLTs

Toni Lucas

During the regular meeting of Town of Pincher Creek council Monday, January 11, council looked at amending Bylaw No. 1547-Z to included 'gaming or gambling establishment' for permitted use of VLTs. The local Boston Pizza is looking to install five video lottery terminal (VLT) machines in their lounge area. The restaurant and lounge is in an area of town designated as a business park, and VLTs are not currently a designated acceptable use. First reading of the amendment passed unanimously. A public hearing has been set for February 8, 2016 before council considers a second or third reading of the amendment.
