At their regular meeting of January 11 Council for the Town if Pincher Creek authorized Mayor Don Anderberg and CAO Laurie Wilgosh or delegates to attend n Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) linear property taxation symposium on Friday, January 15 in Calgary and Wednesday, January 27 in Edmonton. According to the AUMA website "The new government’s election platform committed to do a review of linear property taxes. AUMA’s advocacy to date has been to share linear taxes at a regional level to more appropriately align the provision of municipal services to revenue sources. Working sessions held during these events will inform our continued efforts in advocating on behalf of municipalities on this important issue as the Municipal Government Act review progresses."
