Lundbreck's Junior A Boys Livingstone Sabres hosted their 2016 tournament last weekend on February 12 and 13.  Eight teams participated in the 12 game event, including the Sabres, the Crowsnest Panthers, St. Michael's Dragons, Coaldale's Christian Titans, Matthew Halton's Hawks, Medicine Hat's Warriors, the Spring Glen Panthers, and Claresholm's WCCHS Cobras.  The Spring Glen Panthers (composed of players from Hill Spring and Glenwood) earned first place with three wide margin wins, which included the final game against the Sabres, who earned second place.  The Cobras defeated the Warriors for third place in a game that was decided in the last minute of play. The Crowsnest Pass Panthers came from behind to narrowly defeat the Hawks in the consolation game.  A highlight of the event for Sabres fans was their overtime win against the Warriors.

^ Raffle prizes were drawn for during the third place game intermission, with the proceeds going towards the LHS Sports Booster Club to help fund the upcoming 2016 ASAA Senior 1A Boys Basketball Provincials, which the Sabres will be hosting at Matthew Halton High School in Pincher Creek March 17-19.
