At 11:24 today, March 22, 2016, Pincher Creek Emergency Services and Pincher Creek RCMP responded to a vehicle fire at the side of Highway 6 near Township Road 52, approximately 15 km south of Pincher Creek. A pickup truck left the road and was fully engulfed. Two occupants of the vehicle were transported to Pincher Creek Health Centre with undetermined injuries via a private vehicle before first responders attended the scene. The fire was extinguished and the scene was cleared by approximately 1:00 pm.
Update: According to Constable Curwin of the Pincher Creek RCMP, the fire was caused by mechanical failure. The driver suffered undetermined lower body injuries. No charges are expected to be laid in relation to the incident.
