According to Peigan Volunteer Fire Department Chief Floyd Provost, RCMP and EMS were on scene by the time Peigan Fire arrived, and the pickup truck driver was already being handled in the EMS unit, with undetermined injuries. Peigan Fire responded with a Command Unit and Brush Buggy, completed a site reconnaissance with photos and measured the impact site. The eastbound CPR train was parked approximately a quarter of a mile east of the impact site.
