Chris Davis - Conservative Party of Canada candidate Glen Motz was elected last night, October 24, 2016 as the Member of Parliament for Medicine Hat - Cardston - Warner. Motz, formerly a member of the Medicine Hat Police Service, won the by-election by a wide 69.9% margin. The seat was rendered vacant by the passing of Conservative MP
Jim Hillyer, who died in his Ottawa office of cardiomyopathy on March 23 of this year. Liberal candidate Stan Sakamoto received 25.6% of the vote. The remaining four candidates received between 0.6% and 2% each of the votes cast.
