McLelland family cattle drive - file photo |
A citizen of the MD of Pincher Creek wrote us recently with a timely reminder: "Please put out a plea for people to slow down when they see a cattle drive on the road! We just drove by some carnage where three animals are dead after a gravel truck hit them. We just drove by some carnage where three animals are dead after a gravel truck hit them. The driver would have clearly seen them. What if that were one of the riders on their horse? Very sobering."
VERY true!! As one of the people with family on horses, and cattle on the road, it FLOORS me the amount of times someone will blow past my vehicle... while I have a flashing light and HUGE sign on the back reading "CAUTION CATTLE". Most people are good and slow to drive through - but it only takes one person in too much of a hurry, to cause an accident.
