Bantam Chinooks to face several familiar opponents this regular CAHL season

Bantam Chinooks vs Indus Hurricanes
Chris Davis - Pincher Creek's Bantam Chinooks have been placed in the Central Alberta Hockey League (CAHL) tier 5 at the conclusion of this season's seeding round.  They will be facing some familiar competition for the regular season, including Crowsnest Pass, Bow Island/Foremost, Claresholm, and Nanton, as well as Rockyford.  In the tiering round the Chinooks won three games, lost two, and tied one.

Bantam Chinooks vs Foremost Flyers
The Chinooks had a rough opening to the 2016 season, losing to Fort Macleod by a wide margin, then losing to Claresholm by a narrow 3-2.  Then they travelled to Crowsnest Pass and earned their first win of the season, defeating the Thunder 5-2.  That seemed to break the ice, so to speak, for the Chinooks, who went on to defeat Vulcan 7-5, then to tie Indus 3-3 at home, before wrapping up the tiering round with another home-ice win, this time defeating Bow Island/Foremost 4-1.

#14 Michael Kleinhans-Kaupp was the top scorer for the Chinooks during tiering, with 7 goals and 2 assists.  Right behind him in the stats is #7 Dillon Stevenson with 5 goals and 3 assists.  #15 Logan Deley scored 4 goals and earned 1 assist.  #5 Brayden Scotten scored 1 goal and earned 4 assists.  #4 Sam Jordan scored 1 goal and earned 3 assists.  #13 Christian Berthiaume earned 4 assists.  #2 Easton Fitzpatrick scored once.  Also earning an assist each were #19 Cade Ames and #12 Connor Stuckey.

The Bantam Chinooks are scheduled to begin the regular season with a rematch against Bow Island/Foremost, this time at the Foremost Civic Centre Arena, on Friday November 18.  On Saturday November 19 they are scheduled to host Nanton at the Memorial Community Centre Arena in Pincher Creek, starting at 4:45 pm.  Nanton will be looking to improve upon their 1 win/6 losses tiering round record.  The Chinooks can't afford to be complacent going in to either game, regular season often plays out differently than than the seeding round might indicate.
