Peewee Chinooks host tournament

2016/17 Peewee Chinooks

Chris Davis - Pincher Creek's Peewee Chinooks hosted a tournament last weekend at the MCC Arena.  After three days of hard-played games Rimbey's Renegades earned first place, the Chinooks earned second place, and Strathmore's Storm earned third place.  Also participating were Calgary's Blackfoot and Medicine Hat's Oilers.

A total of nine games were played during the competitive three-day tournament.  Although some games were decided quite definitively, there were no games where the score was decided by a huge margin.  The Rimbey Renegades won all four of their games to win the tournament.  The Chinooks defeated Blackfoot 2-0, defeated the Oilers 6-1, were defeated 3-2 by the Renegades (a barnburner), and defeated the Storm 4-3 (another great game) to earn their second place slot.  There were no playoff games as the final tournament results were decided based on points, with each win earning the winning team two points.

We'll have a recap of the Peewee Chinooks 2016/17 season so far after they host Nanton this Sunday, December 18.  That game will be at the MCC Arena in Pincher Creek starting at 1:45 pm.
